Can't make a 44 yard field goal, let's attempt a 47 instead. But Purdue's loss pales in comparison to the circus sideshow which was the second half of the OSU/USC game. Once again, we had a chance to at least lose with dignity - perhaps restoring a bit of respect to the Big Ten - but instead couldn't even muster a touchdown. Ok, we did get a touchdown but due one of MANY penalities in the game, it was taken back. Aaarrrggh. They had plenty of time to get into easy field goal range at the end of the game. Instead, they asked the kicker to make a 44 year field goal into a stiff cross wind. Then in overtime with 2nd and 12 from the 12, they ran up the middle, a play that had worked exactly once all day, on the 2nd play of the game. It failed, and we settled for a tie in the first OT.
