No. 2 is Celine Dion – color me surprised again for the SAME reason as for Madonna. No. 3 is Beyonce – ok, that chick is everywhere so it’s not surprising that my future second wife, I mean the lovely Queen B, would be puttin’ away the cabbage.
AC/DC is in a three way tie for 6th place with Rascal Flatts (who at least have members from my hometown) and Coldplay. Each group cleared 60 mil this year.
Now here’s the kicker – Bon Jovi is #11. WHAT!? Not ‘Van Has-Been’, not KI$$, not even the Crue. But Bon Jovi? CLEARLY either I am out of touch with the tastes of the masses these days, or I’m out of touch with what is sold at Wal-Mart. I mean NAME a Bon Jovi song from the last album! Name the damn album if you don’t know any of the songs!?
Exactly. You don’t know and neither do I. So how the hell did he get to be #11, earning $50 million this year?
Somewhere out there, Alec John Such just kicked a dog.

Bon Jovi is on the Forbes list every year.Apparently he is a very smart business person.
Lost Highway was Bon Jovi’s last album. The album was great and they also had a very successful tour to promote this album. I can name most of the songs but some of my favorites, Whole lot of leaving, Make a memory, I love this town, Lost Highway, Summertime and We’ve got it going on… need I continue… Bon Jovi continues to write and produce CURRENT music that’s why he is number 11. He is not a HAS BEEN nor just touring with old 80′s music. I don’t know where this author lives, but I can’t figure out how he doesn’t know any of the current Bon Jovi music.
Smart businessman, well he must be. Other than buying an arena football team, which is a questionable investment.
I’ll give him this, he’s outlasted most of the other 80′s bands who can only dream of their arena days. I personally just think he’s also outlasted his relevance.
Retract the claws, Anon. It’s my opinion, and if you look around this site – clearly I’m more inclined to the blacker, thrashier stuff. I never just said “Bon Jovi Sucks” as I respect most musicians, regardless of genre.
That being said, do I think he’s a huge sell-out – yes I do. But to each his own.
