Tonight we’re hosting our 2nd annual Halloween Hootananny – not my choice of names but “2nd Annual Halloween Death & Splatter Festival” got vetoed by the powers that be.  Anyways, friends will be dropping by in costume, we’ll be cranking out creepy music by the likes of Midnight Syndicate, Nox Arcana or any of the plethora of sound effects CD’s I have (I kind of collect them. . cough, cough Horror Geek cough).

Here’s hoping you go celebrate the holiday with family & friends;  go to a costume party or at the very least a haunted house.   I went to Terrorfest this year – more on that in a later post.  But make the most of the season ’cause Old Man Winter will be here before you know it.

Sadly, my early departure tomorrow necessitates me missing GWAR tonight at the Newport Music hall.  Sucks.  Would really like to have seen them again.  Ah well, Viva Mexico!

Still, will most likely be quiet here at the Rim whilst I get involved in this mayhem for the third year in a row.  Ah, but the stories to be told later, such fun we’ll have.

Anyhow nope, you’re not so lucky.  I’m sticking around provided I remember to pay my server fees.  I WILL be quite busy over the summer so the posting, as you may have already noticed, might become more sporadic than usual.

But take heart I will still be out there somewhere, shades on and a cold bottle of beer in my hand.  And as long as I’m out & about there will be stories to post  so keep checking back, mmmk?  I still haven’t gotten around to telling the story of when Susan Wallace of Switchblade Symphony threatened to kick my ass from onstage.  She’s a nice girl, I like her.

I remember seeing him do the ‘Seven Words You Can’t Say on TV’ live in Dayton, only by this time in his career it had grown to a literal dictionary of profanity.  He couldn’t even read the whole thing in concert anymore – only select excerpts.  My fav – “Tits.  Sounds like a snack.  I know, I know – it is!”.

The man has more quotes circulating the internet than probably the Pope and the last 7 presidents combined.   And most make more sense.

Thanks for the laughs George.  We’ll miss you!

On the second anniversary of my DUI, I celebrated by. . .you know, drinking.  And don’t blame me for this pic. . .it was taken on the wife’s phone. . by some random fucks. Aw, don’t she look cute?

Still, it was indeed kinda fun to see my favorite bartender look over to me three times this evening and mouth “shoot me. . .SHOOT ME!” as more and more virgin margeritas were ordered.  He’s kinda an alcoholic zealot.  That’s why he’s my boy.

Anyhow, enjoy everyone.  Tomorrow’s another day.

Roughly 5 hours later (over 2 days), I have all blacktop & sidewalks cleared – but can’t stand up straight ’cause my back muscles are on fire.  Time to renew that gym membership eh?

The good news is I should have no trouble getting to work tomorrow.  Wait – that’s the GOOD news!? 

I hate winter. . . .
