Ok, you tell me? Is this cool, or one of the dumbest videos ever? Don’t get me wrong, I have much love for Tim Lambesis & co. – but I think they should ask the director for their money back. The CGI looks like it was done on a Commodore 64. Excellent cover of Judas Priest, though. Think I’d rather just listen to the CD.

The contenders for 2011 ‘Metal Album of the Year’ are starting to come in. This song by The Famine truly kicks ass (even tho the video itself is fairly low tech). Bound to generate some controversy as well with it’s seemingly anti-Christian imagery. But is it anti-Christian, or just anti-organized religion? Think about it. . .

Blabbermouth.net – Featuring this video for two reasons 1) they’re based out of Columbus and 2) a buddy (and occasional commenter on this blog) used to play guitar with these guys. Plus, Vincent Crowley and I seem to attend a lot of the same obscure concerts – although we’ve still never actually spoken to each other.

This is the first professionally shot video the band has done in it’s 20+ years of existence. And for you Anal Cunt fans – Kyle still has a mustache (saw a smart-ass poster on Blabber point that out and literally laughed out loud). Anyhow, decent tune – enjoy.

Slayer – Playing With Dolls

KNAC.com – In anticipation of the new Slayer album ‘World Painted Blood’, the band has released a trailer for the bonus DVD to accompany the deluxe edition of the CD. This 20 minute, 12 part video graphic novel (12 parts in 20 minutes – talk about A.D.D.!?) is directed by Metalocalypse director Mark Brooks. Speaking of Metalocalypse, I’m seeing ole’ Dethklok tomorrow night. Wiki puts this show on par with seeing GWAR or Spinal Tap (both of whom I’ve seen live), so I’m pretty stoked. Check back here later in the week for an update. In the meantime (& in my best Nathan Explosion voice) – “Stay Brutal!”.
