Actually, part of what makes Wordpress awesome - aside from the fact that it’s FREE - is the relative ease you can upgrade your site.  Even if you have a few plugins, it’s still a relatively painless procedure.

But please tell me if I missed something in my testing and something got hosed during the transition.  I’m off to work on my motorcycle. . .

Nothing particularly earthshaking about any of this, I only mention it in case any of you who do subscribe via RSS find things not working etc.  Please let me know if you do see anything out of the ordinary. 

I’ve had the Comments feed ever since I signed up for Feedburner, but had just never gotten around to changing my theme to allow for both feeds.  Now you all have that option.  Ta-Dah!

More changes are coming - but first I have to upgrade to Wordpress 2.5 and make sure that transition goes smoothly.  If you happen to drop by and things are f**ked - well, then you know that the transition did NOT go smoothly.

Anyhow, notice a little skull in front of the URL now - at the top of your browser?  That little booger took me FOREVER to get working properly.  I mean, months.  Why?  Favicon’s are easy, you say.  Well, I found the one Favicon generator that created Favicons that weren’t recognized as Favicons by browsers.  Last place I looked, that sort of thing.  Tried a different generator, VOLA!  Damn thing works now.

So, we have a merchandise page too.  No big deal, just some fun stuff my oldest daughter created.  She’s artistic like that wherein I’m more like ‘autistic’.  She used a site called Zazzle, where my niece just happens to also work.  Small world or strategic partnership, you decide. 

Maybe she’ll make more stuff down the road, who knows.  I think it’s cool all the same.  She took the pictures, did the Photoshop.  Anyone surprised one of my children would hang out in a cemetary?  Didn’t think so.

Lastly, I fixed a small problem on the ‘Want Reviewed’ page.  The email address was, well - WRONG.  So if you wrote me about your band, there’s a chance you got your email slapped right back into your inbox.  Sorry about that.  Occupational hazard of drinking while blogging.  But one must get his inspiration where he can.  So it’s fixed now, and I’m sure you’re over it.

I’m building a second blog to display fictional works.  Not reviews, not rants - actual short stories and poems.  Stuff I’d like to compile someday into a book.  I’ll let you know when it’s ready so you can go make fun of it.  Heck, I would.  Doesn’t matter, I’m gonna do it anyhow.  So save your one-liners for the school yard.

Gonna do some other stuff too, but it’s super secret and you don’t have the decoder ring.  Sucks to be you.

In the meantime, I’m playing around with a Digg Widget (off to the right) instead of the Del.Icio.Us listings that I never seem to get around to updating.  Digg is set up to update itself with the most popular blogs in the Entertainment category.  At least, for now.

I’m not sure if I like it or not.  The border pretty much sucks but it’s in the javascript so ‘tweaking’ it will take me a bit to figure out.   Feel free to offer advice or commentary.  Ok, strike that.  HELPFUL commentary.

In other news, ‘Zombie Live’ arrived from Amazon today.  It’s Rob Zombie’s first, and to date only, official live CD.  I plan on reviewing in the next day or so - because nothing says Thanksgiving like ZOMBIES!

The main features, per the plugin homepage are;

1. An ability to create multiple predefined widgets, so you can switch between sets easily or run multiples at the same time.
2. Allows searching for deviations by filters like favorites or artist, or to set an RSS feed of what deviations you want to display.
3. Inline deviations - so you can easily include deviations from within your blog text.
4. Ability to create an unlimited number of portfolio pages to display up to 24 of your deviations per page.

Dion is the creator of this plugin and has been extremely responsive to problems and questions as I’ve been getting it implemented (which was actually rather easy - I just have a knack for making things harder than they need to be).
